Welcome to Holmes Run Pool

Holmes Run Acres Recreation Association, often referred to as Holmes Run Pool, started as one pool on a smal plot of land in 1953. It now offers large and lovely shaded grounds, three swimming pools, two baths houses, wooden decks, a large picnic area, brick barbecue grils, basketbal court, various recreation facilities, and more. We share a rich and vibrant history with our surrounding neighborhoods, contributing to the quality of life of the individuals and families that have lived here. HRARA is incorporated in the state of Virginia and is classified as a social non-profit organization where 90% of the fees colected from our members pay for our operational and maintenance costs.

Lock In 2026 Rates for the 2027 Season! Beat the price increase — for two weeks only, whether you’re a returning member or just joining our pool family, Holmes Run Pool members may register for the 2027 season at 2026 rates. Now’s the time to secure next summer’s membership before prices go up. Sign up between September 14–30. Lock in your 2027 membership at 2026 pricing. As we wrap up another great summer, we want to hear from YOU! Please take a few minutes to complete our End-of-Season Survey. Your feedback helps us understand what you loved, what we can improve, and what features or events you want to see next season. We are eager to hear the opinions of all our members young and old so please share this survey link with the other individuals in your household. (Teens and children require parental permission. Questions for children are tailored to their interest areas, and can be completed with you if you prefer. No personal information about children will be gathered in any way). Fall Party & Pig Roast
Sat, Oct 17 @ 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm
Swimming may be over for this year, but there is still another chance to get together with your Holmes Run Pool friends at this festive gathering celebrating the Autumn season. Chefs Jim Wright, Mark Sites, and their trusty pit crew will lovingly smoke and slow roast a whole pig on site overnight. Savor the succulent barbecue with homemade vegetarian chili and other delicious sides. Children are invited to engage in pumpkin crafts and All are encouraged to participate in or spectate at a three-legged race! So come, enjoy some excellent barbecue, catch the three-legged race, indulge in dessert, or just take in the vibe of the evening, all in the good company of friends and neighbors at this favorite annual event. Tickets are on sale from Tuesday, September 16 until Tuesday, October 13. Discounted tickets and reserved tables are available for volunteers.
Fall Work Party
Sat, Oct 24 @ 9:00 am – 10:00 am
Now that the pool is officially closed for the season, our facility needs to be winterized. There are a few quick items that can be handled by member volunteers including moving the picnic tables and removing the deck canopies. We are looking for volunteers to help with these items—with enough help, these tasks should be finished in 30-45 minutes. If you are able to help, please stop at the pool. Thank you!
