Welcome to Holmes Run Pool

Holmes Run Acres Recreation Association, often referred to as Holmes Run Pool, started as one pool on a smal plot of land in 1953. It now offers large and lovely shaded grounds, three swimming pools, two baths houses, wooden decks, a large picnic area, brick barbecue grils, basketbal court, various recreation facilities, and more. We share a rich and vibrant history with our surrounding neighborhoods, contributing to the quality of life of the individuals and families that have lived here. HRARA is incorporated in the state of Virginia and is classified as a social non-profit organization where 90% of the fees colected from our members pay for our operational and maintenance costs.

    • Fall Party & Pig Roast

      Sat, Oct 17 @ 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm

      Swimming may be over for this year, but there is still another chance to get together with your Holmes Run Pool friends at this festive gathering celebrating the Autumn season. Chefs Jim Wright, Mark Sites, and their trusty pit crew will lovingly smoke and slow roast a whole pig on site overnight. Savor the succulent barbecue with homemade vegetarian sides including chili, mac and cheese, baked beans, and coleslaw. Children are invited to decorate a mini-pumpkin that they can take home with them and All are encouraged to participate in or spectate at a three-legged race! So come, enjoy some excellent barbecue, catch the three-legged race, indulge in dessert, or just take in the vibe of the evening, all in the good company of friends and neighbors at this favorite annual event. Tickets are on sale from Tuesday, September 8 until Tuesday, October 13. Early Birds save money when purchasing tickets by Friday, October 9. Discounted tickets and reserved tables are available for volunteers.
